A Younger Theatre

Bad Physics and Southwark Playhouse present TOAD, an adventurous reinvention of one of the nation’s favourite stories – ‘The Wind in the Willows’.

At the height of an English summer, wet-behind-the-ears Mole meets Rat, Badger, and the reckless and irrepressible Toad, and is thrust into a thrilling new world. But as winter draws closer, Toad’s outrageous adventures take them far from the safety of the River – deep into the uncertainties of the Wild Wood, into a ferocious battle with the elements, and into a world of criminality and corruption. Because hidden in the shadows of the lengthening nights lurk other creatures. And they have an old score to settle…

In the depths of Southwark Playhouse Vaults is a dark and dangerous Wild Wood ready to be discovered. Reinvented with an underground urban dynamic, this is ‘The Wind in the Willows’ as never imagined before.
